Kevin Murphy: Please take your seats and will begin roll call shortly. It is 2:38 pm on Friday and we are back in session. Would Erica please lead us in the Serenity Prayer? Would Rose please read Reaching Out? We are ready to begin roll call. Let’s start on my right. Remember to state your full name, your service position and the number of votes you carry. There are 145 votes and the quorum is 97. TEC will be up first. A few things I want to review since there are a few new people here. Who can vote? Members of the conference are elected delegates, alternate delegates, trustees, WS Office Board Members. Additionally, delegates and alternate delegates not carrying a vote, former trustee and former delegates can make and speak to motion. Any member serving on a committee while making a motion from committee may make them. Other people may speak to motions as long as you have been recognized by the Chair. That may change if we get into time pressure. Announcements –
Glen Tucker: We accidently passed a Unity survey that is not marked DRAFT and we need to get those back. The DRAFT form is attached to the Unity Report.
Kevin Murphy: If you have something that needs to be approved the floor, it should be marked DRAFT. The TEC has an announcement to make.
TEC Chair Report – Kim S./MWRT
I would like to thank the WSBT for voting me as chair to the TEC for the last two years. To follow in Earl Henderson’s footsteps is an honor for me. As the vice chair in 2007/08, I was educated in the process, procedure, and policy. Some prepare you for the outcome, some don’t. Each year brings its own opportunities for spiritual growth. Although last year’s election process was simple in numbers, with only one position to fill and two candidate interviews, it was challenging in the long run. It was a difficult outcome, but one that the fellowship for the most part accepted and met with understanding and support. The WSBT met the challenge, and thanks the Trustee at Large, Richard Schafer, for standing in as

World Service Trustee this past year. I would also like to thank last year’s vice chair to the TEC, Trevor Scheible, for all his help.
This year’s process provided an equally challenging experience… out of the 15 slated candidates; we completed 11 interviews, with five positions to fill. I want to acknowledge the assistance of this year’s vice chair, Joy Hutcheson. The TEC started the interview process in Milwaukee, at the CAWS 2010 Convention. We completed two interviews there. We continued the interview process here at the Conference on Monday, August 30th, and completed on Wednesday, September 1st. Following the interviews, the members of the TEC embarked on the journey of voting and electing our new Trustees. I would like to thank those delegates sitting on the TEC, representing their Regions, for their dedicated service. We all appreciate your unselfish service to C.A. and this fellowship.
With that, once again, God continues to act in his graceful way. He has allowed and provided a well educated, informed and passionate expression of group conscience. The TEC has done the work that was expected of them. It has been quite an experience. I personally appreciate the opportunity for spiritual growth and change, to practice principles before personalities.
