C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2010
ARCHIVE REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
We the Archive Committee are the historians of Cocaine Anonymous, we are enthusiastically awaiting the responsibility to one day safe guard the Archives of CA and in future years provide access to historical data that will be used to rescind motions, argue controversial points of order and compare debates of yesteryear.

REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED ON DURING THE YEAR:
We regret that we didn’t work on any NEW referrals, however we have started the planning stages of what will be an oral history of Cocaine Anonymous. We also have finished and are awaiting final print of our committees’ guide to archiving.

CLOSING COMMENTS:
In closing we are proud to announce that with the help of the Conference Committee we will be planning a Gala Dinner event that will incorporate the history of CA, fundraising and a glimpse of the our future.

Kevin Murphy: Any questions.
Russell Sedman: There was a lacking in the inventorying, where are you with the inventory? Are you archiving that?
Patrick Potter: The status is we have gotten into some of the old boxes ’82-’87 we have classified, scanned documented and inventoried. We are held up from archiving due to the office space.
Joy Hutchenson: It’s a small committee. We need help. We can’t do it with 3 or 4 members. We need volunteers to do photos, categorize, scanning. This is the smallest committee with the biggest job.
Marc Harvey: Thank you. It is going to be fantastic to see an archive museum available on the Internet? What is the timeline?
Patrick Potter: We would love to have it today. We are bound by storage and other things. Financing is the first thing. The other aspect is the content of this information. There’s a lot of proofreading and anonymity issues involved that requires Trustee oversight. This is an enormous project. The history, the memorabilia. We are the first to do this. We are creating the foundation.
Tom Phelan: we are in the process of building a secure area to house the archive that are stored at the office. Some of the equipment necessary has been brought and lent to the office, We don’t have that available.
Scott Anthony: Can you expound on the closing comments.

Patrick Potter: As for the Gala dinner. All committees have fundraising in mind. We would like to contribute to that. This is just outline topic, not approved. Do something post or pre-conference to include everyone here. A trip through yesteryear. We would have maybe recognition of former servants of CA from the past and their work that brings us here now. Build up a fundraiser and have fun. Siobhan Ayer: Is there a procedure for people who show up and want to volunteer so the office knows how to direct them to assist the committee?
Patrick Potter: No. There is a lack of space, lack of commitment. If people want to help the archive committee, help at the office to get archive set up. If we start working on those specific issues we can address how people can volunteer. Cliff Wright: Are you going to have your own site?
Patrick Potter: When we get to that place, IT will be involved, the Trustees will be involved, etc.
Cliff Wright: The Powerpoint required a user name and password, is that correct?
Patrick Potter: The Powerpoint is a guide.
