CLOSING REPORT
C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2009
CAWSC PI REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS
Opening Comments:
CAWSCPI would like to thank the fellowship for giving us the opportunity to be of service. Our Committee has worked through the break- out with enthusiasm and diligence. The survey feedback and number of returned survey forms surpasses anything we’ve ever experienced. We thank our membership for their participation.
We have seen a number of projects bare fruit over the past 12 months. We now have Fact File pamphlets, new posters, cards, and a new PI folder available from CAWSO. Please let your local Groups, Districts and Areas know that these PI tools are available to carry the message into their local communities.

COMMITTEE WORK THAT RESULTED IN MOTIONS
Susan Bredau: Motion: To accept the newly re-formatted CAWSCPI Handbook sent out under SR14
Second.
Kevin Murphy: Would you like to speak to your motion?
Susan Bredau: I speak in favor of the motion. We decided last year to present our information in a different format so we restructured the handbook. Much of the information is the same. We have new technology. We have more guidelines that have been presented, and we hope to standardize all the housekeeping issues. If you have any questions.
Kevin Murphy: Before you ask for questions, let’s finish the motion. Any debate?
Donavon Block: Where do I get the SR14?
Kevin Murphy: SR 14 must be presented 90 days in advance. They sent this out 90 days in advance. Seeing no further debate prepare yourselves to vote. Motion passes unanimously.
REFERRALS OR ITEMS TABLED UNTIL NEXT YEAR; AND ITEMS THE COMMITTEE WILL CONTINUE WORKING ON THROUGH THE YEAR
REFERRAL #6145: That the PI Committee approve the use of approved Online Area Flyer’(s) in the PI Handbook as official public information tools:
Response
Due to SR-14 restraints the PI committee, although supportive of this referral, feel it would be inappropriate to make such significant changes to content until after current document is approved by the conference. This referral will be re-addressed
REFERRAL #5729
If the street art concept will be used as street art will the PI committee look into guidelines about how to use them, how to get approved, tradition breaks ect.
Response
CAWSCPI are currently preparing a guideline to show how to use such PI tools within our traditions.
REFERRALS OR ITEMS REFERRED TO OTHER COMMITTEES; WORLD SERVICE OFFICE, OR BOARD OF TRUSTEES
NONE
REFERRALS THAT DID NOT RESULT IN MOTIONS
Approved Page 34 of 52
REFFERAL #6121: The PI committee adopt the following disclaimer for use on event flyers, meeting directories, and other pertinent documents (included in the PI Handbook) ‘In the spirit of the 6th tradition, CA is not affiliated with any venue or other outside entities’.
Response. No action taken;
We have examined your referral and whatever language World Service Conference adopts will be included in our material.
REFERRAL # 6146: that the PI committee include in its guidelines *that new images be submitted to the CAWSCPI Committee in jpeg & eps format, prior to the conference.
Response
The verbiage, as suggested above will be added to section 5 of the CAWSCPI Handbook under the heading of ‘Conference Approved PI Tools & Images
REFERRAL #6152: To develop a “PI 101” or “PI Basics” for the CAWSCPI Handbook to assist new Areas/Districts in setting up PI activities and structure.
Response
We feel it would be redundant to develop a “PI 101” or “PI Basics” for the PI Handbook as that information is already available in the CAWSCPI Handbook.
NEW COMMITTEE STRUCTURE AS OF THIS CONFERENCE

Vice-Chair – Alan Shields
