INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
Welcome to the 2009 World Service Conference. This year’s theme is
“Unity-Celebration of Life 2009”! As we proceed through these next 6 days let us celebrate our first tradition of UNITY. This committee’s task throughout the past year was to provide the best possible service to the attendees of the Conference, as well as to keep the delegates and the Fellowship informed of issues affecting C.A. as a whole. Our committee began working soon after the 2008 Conference, meeting each month via conference call preparing for this year’s main event. Below is a summary of the items we addressed.

REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED UPON DURING THE YEAR
Referral #5702
Keep the office open later on Thursday. S & B had a definite need to have our first preliminary copy that we need for our committee first thing early Friday morning.
Approved Response: At this point we feel the office hours that are currently in place are sufficient to accommodate all committees. If necessary, on an as needed basis, special arrangements for alternate hours may be made.
Referral #5876
Add to the WSM verbiage on how to make motions from the Table of Motions on page 58.
Approved Response: Referred to S&B with suggested changes.
Referral #5511
It appears that we could do a better job of informing the delegates about the second half of the Conference (Friday through Sunday). Please add some hints, ideas, about how to ask a Parliamentary Inquiry, and Point of Order beyond the Mock Motion. Perhaps some Conference old-timers could be involved.
