OPENING REPORT
C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2009
CAWS PI REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
The Public Information Committee has had 5 conference calls and remained continually active by email over the last 12 months. We are a very focused and hard working committee with members new and old helping to keep us moving forward with the specific projects currently on the table:
- The newly formatted and renamed CAWSPI Handbook has continued to be a focal point of our work, we look forward to presenting the current piece to the conference.
- We are also excited to be working on the new PSA project as we move forward in the 3rd point of the 8 point process.
- We would like to thank the fellowship for taking part in the 2009 survey and with the input from CAWSO we hope to again present the results to you by the end of this Conference.
In addition to these projects, we will be creating our PI Committee Guidelines, updating the Fact File, designing a new interactive PI Page for ca.org, and continuing to add and refine information to the PI Handbook.
We’ve been blessed to have Robert Lyle, our Trustee and Richard Leve from the WSOB working with us over the past year giving guidance, support and encouragement. We would also like to thank Ruby Lemoine, who had to step down as CAWSPI Chairperson soon after 2008 Conference.
Projects from previous years are now bearing fruit with generic folders, international info-line cards, posters and a new pamphlet version of the PI Fact File available through CAWSO.

This referral was tabled until this Conference.
CLOSING COMMENTS:
As always CAWSPI welcomes new members, particularly those with special skills, such as graphics, web or computer knowledge, writing, proof reading, research, production and other media savvy attributes! We are especially in need of committed members willing to take minutes at this Conference and online throughout the year. We ask that any new delegates wishing to serve on a committee that works throughout the year (smiling and laughing through most of it) consider joining us. PI carries the message!
In loving service
CAWS PI Committee
