CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
Welcome to the 2006 Conference, “Open Arms, Open Hearts, Open Minds.” This year’s theme truly represents the essence of this fellowship, and the members attending the Conference this year. Looking around the room today, it is apparent that the Conference Committee has done their work it again. Trust the process and it will happen.
This Committee works year round, meeting each month via conference call and with a face to face meeting in Houston. We are determined to provide the best possible service to the fellowship, especially the attendees of the Conference. Our intent is to provide a fully functional Conference so that our delegates and membership are able to accomplish the business of CA. Other than working on the logistics of the Conference during this past year, we had one post Conference referral, which we have reported in this report.

REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED UPON DURING THE YEAR:
Referral #4601
At any time a revised document is presented to the Conference floor from a Committee; it should be in such a format that changes are easily identified. The draft revision shall

have the original wording included on the draft with a single line drawn through; and the new wording set in bold type. Any handouts not in this format will not be discussed.
Response:
Refer to Structure & Bylaws with the following note:
The Conference Committee has determined that this referral should be routed to Structure Bylaws because the maker’s request that such formatting be required is not within our purview. If such a requirement is to be imposed through, say, a Standing Rule, that Motion would need to come out of S&B. The Conference Committee has, however, addressed the concerns expressed in the referral by revising the “Committee Referral/Report Instructions” (distributed to committee and board chairs at the Conference) to request that proposed document revisions be presented in the manner suggested.
CLOSING COMMENTS:
In closing, we look forward to serving you this week, and in the future. If you have any questions or concerns during the remainder if this week, please see myself, Leslie Groter or Scott Botz. As a reminder, we are looking for new members to serve on this committee. Being a member of this committee is exciting and rewarding. Thank you.
