Structure and Bylaws
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS:
Welcome to the 2004 World Service Conference. The purpose of the Structure and Bylaws Committee is to formulate bylaws, guidelines and structures by which Cocaine Anonymous can operate day-to-day, at conferences and elsewhere around the World. We plan to execute with great diligence the task of being of maximum service to our fellowship, by introducing new verbiage into our all-inclusive World Service Manual. Allowing our fellowship to grow and flourish.
COMMITTEE INTRODUCTIONS:
We have 2 committee officers returning this year, due to losing 2 key members (our co-secretary and vice-chair) to the Conference Committee near the close of the 2003 conference. Elections for the 2 replacement officers will be the first item on our agenda.
Our 2 returning officers are Bryan S. – Chair and Bobby H. – Secretary. Bobby was especially instrumental in the release of your 2004 WSM. All returning delegates from the Structure and Bylaws Committee are encouraged to rejoin in our quest to provide Cocaine Anonymous as a whole the most up to date comprehensive manual.
REFERRALS THAT WERE WORKED UPON DURING THE YEAR:
Structure & Bylaws met at the 2004 World Service Convention to discuss referrals that were tabled or held in committee as well as referrals from the close of the 2003 World Service Conference. Many of our individual members dedicated themselves to being prepared on items tabled for this year, bringing back to the group their suggestions for motions or recommendations to be included this year in the Structure & Bylaws report.
CLOSING COMMENTS:
The Structure & Bylaws group encourages new membership to our group with great enthusiasm. Structure & Bylaws is a group comprised of Lawyers, Doctors, School Teachers, Bus Drivers, Retired Individuals and the occasional Addict and Alcoholic. Come get involved with a group that demands late night sessions, early morning hours with no gratification from the floor or even inside our own group. What I can promise, is that when the conference is over you will feel a sense of accomplishment. We encourage you to join us in making a difference with your 2005 World Service Manual.
