CLOSING REPORT
C.A. WORLD SERVICE CONFERENCE 2012
UNITY REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND OPENING COMMENTS
Opening Comments
55 Approved – REDACTED
I want to thank Cocaine Anonymous the fellowship I crave for the honor of allowing me to be of service at this level. I never would have dreamed it possible. We had a much better response for artwork for CATW this year and we will be showing you guys that in a while for your approval.
We had 5 first year delegates join us this year and as you can see the Unity committee has all positions filled. Due to the number of members involved now we have been able to be a lot more precise with roles and responsibilities! We have got a couple of motions on that later as well.
I want to thank Randy G. our speaker at the luncheon today not just for speaking but for the years of continuous service to our fellowship. Did you all enjoy the lunch? Well we got some plans on how were going to improve that next year also. I want to thank all the people who took time out to participate in the 12 step meetings. Thank you. We have appointed a “Meeting Coordinator” who has some great new ideas on that for next year. Watch this space…
Our committee has worked hard this conference we have completed lots of housekeeping in the guidelines. We are going to be more proactive with the website and the Newsgram to keep these up to date with current Unity information. Our greatest challenge this year has been to get through it all with so many new members we found debate long and sometimes quite stressful. Taking time to go through the guidelines and explain many things to our first timers was for us of utmost importance.

REFERRALS THAT RESULTED IN MOTIONS
There were none:
REFERRALS OR ITEMS TABLED UNTIL NEXT YEAR; AND ITEMS THE COMMITTEE WILL CONTINUE WORKING ON THROUGH THE YEAR
Referral # 7088
Please consider making the following changes/improvements to the Unity Lunch.
I would find this more appealing and be willing to pay more to attend:
- More scenic location (beach)
- Public restrooms
- More seating and more comfortable seating a lot of our members can’t sit on the ground easily
- Shuttles or other coordinated transportation
- More vegetarian options (salad is not an entrée)- more mac & cheese without meat
Response;
The unity committee considered carefully and debated heavily all aspects of this referral. As a result we were able to provide some tables and chairs this year. The park has restrooms. We thought sand and food would not mix too well. And we hope our new Luncheon Chair will improve other aspects for next year’s luncheon.

CLOSING COMMENTS
After 5 years attending this conference I am heavy hearted to know I won’t be here next year, but that sadness is far outweighed knowing what a great committee we have to steer the unity-ship onwards into the coming years. I will remain a member and hopefully help online wherever I can. It’s been an experience I would not have missed for the world and everything in it. I have met people whom I have come to admire, I met members that inspire me and countless others. What a thrill. I feel it would be remiss of me if I didn’t at least mention just how important to the continued growth of our wonderful fellowship Unity is. For too L. WE have let Unity be the ice cream social or the luncheon committee. It is that and much much more. For too long we have said don’t worry about Unity we have far more important things to look at. For the record I would like to state “For our survival and for our continued growth there is nothing more important than Unity”
Thank you for letting me be of service,
Respectfully Submitted:
