I. OLD BUSINESS
A. TREASURER’S REPORT
Candy mentioned that she needs invoices for all checks written, and receipts for all chip and literature sales.
She said that envelopes will be given at the beginning of the G.S.O. monthly meeting for donations. They will be double checked by both Mitch and herself, and receipts will be given to each meeting representative for their donations. The receipts will be balanced at the end of the meeting.
She asked that at the next party, the monies will be separated from tickets, food, drinks, etc. She also suggested that there be games and/or booths at the event, and have a participation meeting going concurrently to the dance in another room.
Candy will attend the next Board meeting.
B. CENTRAL OFFICE
Robin called 3 real estate people regarding office space, but has nothing yet.
Mitch will give Robin the boundaries for phone service retaining the same number. (east of San Diego Freeway).
C. OFFICE MANAGER’S REPORT
Ray now has an assistant, Misty Lozano, who is contacting Nina for word processing of directories.
It was mentioned that the Volunteer List Form needs to be updated. 1-day phones should be added.
Problems with the phone system: the people manning the phones must remember to rewind the message tape.
Laurie will call regarding the pricing of an answering service.

Johnny, Gil, and Mitch will be called by Robin to help find office space. Robin will divide up the listings from the Sunday Times and call.
It was agreed that a backup phone machine was needed. It was suggested that a cheaper Phonemate be purchased with the same call-in codes. Ray will call ABC premiums and Phonemate and report back.
D. NEW COMMITTEES
Johnny called Pia regarding a softball field. It will be needed by the next GSO meeting. He called Steve regarding organizing the sports committee and will report back. The GSO will purchase softball equipment.
Johnny will give Lionel the NA service manual and have him develop: a committee for bylaws and procedures, a duty sheet for new GSRs, and a flowchart of the GSR hierarchy. Gil will call Lionel and inform him of the above information.
Laurie will look into manned phone service for the new office.

E. GUIDELINES FOR MEETING SECRETARIES
A secretary got loaded and came back. A group conscience was taken, and she remained as secretary.
It was mentioned that suggested guidelines be developed for meeting secretaries.

Suggestions included:
– Length of time for secretaries and treasurers
– How to start a moeting
– Are representatives and secretaries elected or appointed?
– Row long is the term?
– A group conscience should not be taken lightly (personality conflict should not be voted on)
– When votes are taken, nominees should leave the room
F. JULY 4TH MARATHON MEETING
Robin will call Tom Kenny to book the Union Hall. Pia is also on the committee. The time will be from 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The GSO will donate coffee and refreshments. Pia will book GSR’s for taking 1-hour meetings.
G PUBLIC INFORMATION REPORT
Gil called Ian Gill of Vancouver who wanted information on C.A. He had called Tom Kenny meanwhile, and gotten the information that he needed. Gil got the contact there. There is a meeting going on there, and Gil will contact him and send a National Directory.
Ray will contact Jennifer Rice for an address to send a National Directory.
Gil got a PI assistant named Druce.
Gil will call Natiezzi regarding chips. Slogans included: courage, faith, willingness, honesty, openmindedness(synonym).
There is an ad in “Variety” mentioning C.A. Gil will get a copy and contact Tom Kenny about it.
