I. OLD BUSINESS/REPORTS
A. TREASURER’S REPORT
Mitch Sperling reported that the current balance in the General Services account Is $1606.17. $227.00 In expenditures were made on 5,000 copies of “To The Newcomer” since the last mooting.
Mitch stated that by the end of the meeting, he had taken in $1511.75 from the G.S.R.fi. This includes donation,.chip, literature, and C.A. party ticket money.
Mitch explained the sources and expenditures of the G.S.O. money to new G.S.R.’s.
B. PUBLIC INFORMATION
Gil Mosko reported on the following projects:
1) National Directories were sent to people listed in the Directory with a cover letter requesting corrections. Gil mentioned the locations for distribution.
2) According to Elizabeth Bailey of Newsweek, the C.A. article has been put on hold until the end of May.
3) Gil met with Tony Daily, a doctor on the L.A. Olympic Organizing Committee and gave him C.A. Literature.

4) Gil Invited Dennis Hookam, an Orange County representative from Newport Beach to the General Services Monthly meeting.
5) A C.A. starter kit vos sont to Albany, New York.
6) San Francisco and Son Diego C.A. members were Invited to the C.A. Spring Party.
Projects In process:
1) Draft a letter to all meetings to donate to the L.A. General Services Organization – on hold until the meetings get directories and familiarize themselves with C.A. G.S.O.
2) Draft a letter to A.A. World Services.
C. LITERATURE COMMITTEE
Cindy Duncan and Mitch Sperling hod new, smaller printing formats created for the C.A. pamphlet “To The Newcomer”. Cindy is also working on a smaller printed version of the “First 30 Days”.
Johnny Segal mentioned that the G.S. Board voted on o person to fill a permanent Board sent as Literature Chairperson, but the person couldn’t accept. The Board will vote again on another choice.
Mitch pointed out that should anyone want to write a piece of literature, they are welcome to do so, and turn It in to the Literature Committee.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to change the C.A. pamphlets to the smaller printing format.
D. OFFICE MANAGER’S REPORT
Ray Grossa stated that the phone system was working well, and that there were 3 new people manning the phones.
Ray handed out new L.A. Directories.
Cindy Duncan Is preparing a mnln speaker list for meetings. It will be distributed soon.
E. NATIONAL C.A./WORLD SERVICES
Roy Grossa reported that new national meetings were started in: Houston, Texas; Scottsdale, Arizona; New York; and Connecticut. Los Vegas has started a C.A. Hotline.
Robin Warga mentioned that Santa Barbara has 2 meetings, and is starting another now one.

E. NATIONAL C.A./WORLD SERVICES (continued)
Gil Mosko will send literature to the 4 new National meeting locations.
Johnny Segal explained the need for a Notional Office os C.A…meetings are in at least 10 states. He discussed that the C.S.O. Is trying to organize a World Office.
F. ATHLETICS REPORT
Mitch Sperling mentioned that John Olivera still has money from the Laker game ticket sales.
It was agreed that the C.A. G.S.O. would sponsor a softball game every other Saturday at Stoner Pork.
Suggestions for sports events Included: fishing, volleyball, beach party.
G. C.A. SPRING PARTY
Over 100 tickets have been sold In advance to-date.
Arthur recruited the following people to work in the kitchen: Barbara Williams, Robin Warga, Gil Mosko, Colin Hurst, Laurence Bulleit, and Michelle Pirelli.
Mitch Sperling will pick up the hot dog buns and other food.
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to purchase 380 hotdogs.
Recording equipment was volunteered by Candy Jordan, with Nell Melinkovich os standby. Ken Lieb volunteered his services.
Clean up volunteers: Arthur Nidetz, Julie Anhalt, Robin Warga, Wally Istvan, Neil Melinkovich.
Set up volunteers: Pia Kaye, Robin Warga, Mitch. Sperling, Ray Grossa, Wally Isvan, Matt Seegers

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to tape the meeting and have copies made for sale.
H. NEW CENTRAL OFFICE
Robin explained that C.A. G.S.O. is looking for a place for a new central office. To have the phone moved would have a one-tine installation fee of $100.00. The rent should be in the $350-$400 category, and It Is not a write-off to landlords, but is a loss.

3 people are currently working locating a new office.
Mitch reported that 2 Independent phone lines would cost $127 per line and $50 per phone If we change the current C.A. number.
I. MEETING CHANGES/ADDITIONS
Malka Regina checked out the Saturday, Glendale and Midnight meetings for accreditation purposes. They ore OK.
New meeting: Midway Hospital, Sunday – 7:30 p. ra.
5925 San Vincente Blvd, Wilshire District, Midtown L.A. Conference Room
Cave Meeting – 1.9 mile hike. 3rd Sunday of each month, meet at Denny’s Restaurant at Kanan Road exit off Ventura Freeway In Agoura – meet ot 9:30 a.m., leave at 10:30 a.nt., return around 3:00 p.m. or 4:C0 p.m. Bring water and pack a lunch.
J. OTHER OLD BUSINESS
Robin Warga mentioned that hospital panels are starting up and need support.
Johnny Segal read off the names of the new committees and requested that Interested people see him after the meeting. It was mentioned that the G.S.R.s should tell their meetings about the committees and get the names of interested people.
It was mentioned that C.A. will be purchasing new chips with a different look than the present chips. Samples were exhibited.
II. NEW BUSINESS
A. ORANGE COUNTY CALLERS
Misty Lozano suggested that the Orange County Hotline number be added to our Hotline list of numbers as they get calls from people In Orange County wanting Information. A motion was made, seconded, and passed to add the number to our Hotline list.
B. JULY 4 MARATHON MEETING
A motion was made, seconded, and passed to have a marathon meeting on July 4. Robin Warga and Arthur Nidetz will organize the event.
C. BEACH PARTY – July 4
It was agreed to have a bench party on July A. Candy Jordan and Cindy Duncan will organize the event.
D. Gil Mosko’s C.A. birthday Is today! Congratulations!

The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m. The next monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 1984, 7:00 p.m., at Beverly Glen Hospital.
The General Services Board met briefly after the general meeting and passed a motion to change the day of Board meeting to Tuesday. The next General Services Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 1984, 7:30 p.m. at Johnny Segal’s house.
