I. OLD BUSINESS
A. TREASURER’S/FINANCIAL REPORT
Mitch reported that the current balance in the G.S. account is $1452.30.
Mitch announced that the C.A. Anniversary party had netted $1370.00.
Mitch handed out envelopes for donations from individual meetings, requesting that they be returned at the next monthly meeting.
Hawthorne and Cerritos meetings made donations.
B. TAX STATUS REPORT
Mitch stated that C.A. is now a non-profit corporation, but still needs the tax exempt status from the IRS. The revised application was mailed today.
C. PUBLIC INFORMATION REPORT
Gil mentioned that he had talked to Tom Kinney about working with the networks.
Robin said that he was doing a taped interview with Tom Kinney for Channel 9 or. Thursday, December 15.
Gil explained that he will be contacting hospitals and sending them meeting directories.
Robin stated that he will be speaking on his experiences at a Statewide Judicial Conference for judges, senators, and ether congressmen on Saturday, December 17. He will take directories and Fact Files.
The C.A. commercial will be on the air after New Year’s day.
D. NEW YEAR’S EVE MEETING
Robin explained the marathon meeting and handed out flyers.

E. NON-CA-APPROVED ACTIVITIES
Johnny pointed out C.A.’s policy on activities not sponsored by C.A. We will not support them as they conflict with our traditions.
F. SKILLS LIST
Robin presented the skills list form and explained its purpose. The forms should be distributed at meetings and returned at the next monthly G.S. meeting.
G. LITERATURE COMMUTES REPORT
Mitch announced that the committee was working on handouts, such as pamphlets, for meetings.
Gil discussed the purpose of the Fact File and presented the cover letter. After discussion and modification, a motion was made and passed to approve the cover letter.
Gil read a pamphlet written by Tony S. on cocaine addicts. Several motions were made and passed: the first 2500 printed will be distributed free of charge, the title shall be “TO THE NEWCOMER”, the 12 steps will be added to the last page, and the C.A. Hotline phone number will be added. Mitch will have the pamphlets printed.
H. TELEPHONE STATUS REPORT
Ray reported that the new Hotline service with people manning the phone is functioning and is in its second week. He explained how the procedure works.
Two or three more people are needed for back-up. It was requested that t.iis be announced at individual meetings.
The people must have 6 months sobriety, a push-button phone, and be able to be available for 24 hours.
I. NATIONAL C.A. REPORT
Ray read a list of people from across the country who are inquiring about meetings and formats.
It was mentioned that L.A. was looked upon as the head of C.A. across the U.S.

J. G.S.O. OBJECTIVES
Johnny reviewed the 6-month objectives for the General Services Organization:
1. Sports Activity Group – headed by Neil, with Steve and John. They will meet this week, and report back, to the board.
2. Literature Committee – headed by Mitch
3. Panels is for hospitals, prisons, and schools
4. Entertainment Committee – (Non-athletic)
5. Finding spaces for meetings
6. Tapes of speakers
7. P.O. Box – Robin will acquire this
K. MEETING CHANGES/ADDITIONS
Thursday Cerritos is changing to Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday Centinela will be at 7:00 p.m.
It was mentioned that the Sunday Hawthorne, Thursday Malibu, and Monday Serra Memorial meetings need support.
A Women’s Stag meeting will be started soon.
A new day meeting in the valley may be starting.
A new Saturday meeting in Pasadena may he starting.
Gil brought out that there is a place in Torrance for a new Monday night meeting.
L. OTHER BUSINESS
C.A. chips are now for sale. The meeting literature people should place orders with the G.S.O. at the monthly meetings. Credit will be extended for this meeting only.
II. NEW BUSINESS
None.

The next General Services monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 3, 1984, at 7:00 p.m. at Beverly Glen Hospital.
