· WSOB OVERVIEW

Richard continues to work diligently with the WSO staff and has them turning in weekly task worksheets so he can stay current on their activities and see the progress in tasks he assigns.

Director Recruiting § During meeting the board went into Executive Session and Laurie was interviewed for DAL position. She was unanimously elected by the WSOB and her resume was forwarded to the WSBT Chair for trustee ratifications

It is the intention of the WSOB to bring Laurie on as a DAL and, once on board, put her on the Treasurer slate for the WSBT’s November quarterly meeting.

WSOB will continue to seek director resumes; specifically WSOB needs to recruit DALs to fill the Treasurer and Secretary openings.

Transcripts for 2012 and 2013 WSC were forwarded to transcribers and the work has begun.

WEBSITE § The website was hacked during conference. WSO paid Network Solutions $60 to add a security layer to the website in an effort to stop this from occurring in the future. Paul and Richard will continue to look at options for adding more security but this may not be feasible due to the piecemeal nature of current site.

OCT UPDATE: Linda is waiting on Network Solutions to add the security layer to the CAWSO site which will force user to enter the characters found in a “swirly image” in order for them to download from site.

Paul is done with bugzilla tickets; Paul has added the ca.org emails as requested by the WSBT

MOTION: To have WSO perform 7th tradition analysis over the past couple years and provide a monthly chart showing regional donations overtime (KJ is paraphrasing this ;p)

IN-CONFERENCE REFFERRALS TO BE ADDRESSED:

#7130 Rob Yves

Please provide brief minutes of WSBT meetings. These to be distributed to the fellowship whilst they are still relevant.

#7131 Rob Yves

Please desist from producing full transcript minutes of the WSBT meetings. It is understood that there is no legal requirement to produce these and it is a huge drain on time and financial resources. The time taken to produce full transcriptions makes the information contained obsolete.

#7255 Russell KJ

With regard to the proposed European literature fulfillment facility/centre. Please to be able to make a “one stop shop” for all our literature requirements.

This would entail being able to purchase not only C.A. literature but also the AA publications as listed under the Advisory Opinions section of the WSC Approved Literature. A facility that does not do this will not meet our needs.

#7322 Kenny Duane Brian Ira

To change all “CA” owned entities to private foundations and change 501c3 to 509c2.

See attachment for reasons.

• The would limit legal expenses’

• This would eliminate the 150 mile rule

• This would change (increase) member’s ability to donate

• This would eliminate State mandates imposed on public benefit not-for-profits

• This would change four tax status and save us money

#7326 Kenny Yves

Social media is a big part of our lives today. I see our C.A. logo quite a lot! I feel it be necessary to have social media added in to our 11th Tradition. It is trademarked. Anyone can use it without C.A.’s authorization. I do not state C.A. in any of my posts etc. because there are those such as my son who do not need to have my anonymity broken for his sake. I feel that newcomers can misconstrue this and be okay adding the C.A. logo or using it not knowing it is a tradition violation.

#7282 Brian Jay Terry Duane

It is my understanding that any votes tallied by the TEC are counted by the trustees alone. If this is true, I would recommend that this process be changed so that there is equal representation by both trustees and delegates doing the counting process.

POST-CONFERENCE REFERRALS TO BE ADDRESSED:

None

Close – Adjourned after 2hours 48 minutes.
