Opening Report
C.A. World Service Conference 2013
Unity Report
I would like to greet everyone who has given their time and their talents to serve the fellowship of Cocaine Anonymous. The Unity Committee has a critical role both here at the conference and throughout every area of our fellowship. We have the local C.A. groups hosting meetings during the mornings and the Unity Committee members hosting meetings at night. We encourage you to

come and participate. The meetings will be held in the Hollywood room. A list of meeting times will be available outside.
Another role that we play here at the conference is hosting the Unity Luncheon to be held this Friday from 11:00 to 2:00. I know that everybody has tickets for this event, right? There are a few tickets available for those who fell into that mental blank spot. We need members with vehicles to volunteer to give people rides to and from the park. We do have a new location for this year’s luncheon. Please let the Unity Committee members know if you want to be of service.
An active Unity Committee can change the dynamics in your area from individual meetings, district and area levels. We have worked hard to reach out to areas with Unity Committees through the world wide Unity Link yahoo group. We have been growing and sharing what works in our areas. We also want to encourage those areas without Unity Committees to form them to help promote C.A. unity, share ideas, sponsor workshops and develop new unity traditions. You do not have to be a delegate or on a unity committee to join our merry band of unity lovers on the Unity Link.

Please consider making the following changes/improvements to the Unity Luncheon
- More scenic location (Beach)
- Public restrooms
- More comfortable seating
- Shuttles or other coordinated transportation
- More vegetarian options
As I mentioned earlier, we did find a new location for this years’ unity luncheon. The unity luncheon will be held at Del Rey Lagoon in Playa Del Rey. The address is printed on your

tickets. We have more seats and tables and more public restrooms. The menu is simplified and has a vegetarian option. Due to budget restraints we will still need volunteers to shuttle people to and from the luncheon.
CLOSING COMMENTS:
I first saw unity in the recovery triangle and thought to myself that unity must be important. I learned from our 1st tradition that “Personal recovery depends on C.A. Unity” and that the co-founder of A.A. declares that it is our most cherished tradition; I knew that unity was important. To serve on the unity committee on any level takes passion and commitment. If you are here for the first time or you are looking for a place to show your talent, the Unity Committee is looking for a few good men and women. We have a number of positions to fill and we encourage you to join our merry band of unity lovers and help carry the message of unity. Thank you for allowing this grateful member to be of service.

Tony D: Any questions?
Jim S: Could you explain your over budget?
Cathy Jo R: We have asked the Finance committee to reconcile this on their report as the expense is split between conference and unity?
Susan B: How many responses did you get from the request for assistance with unity within the region?
Maurice S: We have not received any of the Unity committee forms from any of the
