The Archive Committee continues to grow in vision and project activity. Based on feedback from this year’s World Service Convention in Long Beach, we have begun the process of creating a digital archive of scans and photographs from which to make tutorials and presentations. We have succeeded in making many of our elder statesmen to come forward with their long-held items and memories from the early days of Cocaine Anonymous. The committee is truly grateful for the continued support of the World Service Office, the WSBT and this World Service Conference. We are honored to be trusted by you with protecting and preserving the history of C.A. We have already outgrown our space at the World Service Office and are ready to begin expanding into a climate-controlled storage space for the Master Archive, which is necessary to prevent the deterioration of our history.
COMMITTEE WORK THAT RESULTED IN MOTIONS
We do have committee work that resulted in motions, and our first motion .will be presented by Henry A and Norma Jean S, from San Gabriel Pomona Valley.
Henry A and Norma Jean S – MOTION: To add the following language between “…the Twelve traditions of Cocaine Anonymous” and capital letter A. on page 6 of the 2013 conference-approved Archive Guidelines, (pause for Second) which reads:

Introduction: Hi, this is (first name & initial), from the C.A. World Service Archive
Committee. I’m here with (first name & initial). It is (date) and you have given your permission to be recorded for posterity. Is that right? (Wait for audible response) Thank you.
Closing: I want to thank you for your time today (interviewee’s first name). On behalf of the WSC Archive Committee and our worldwide fellowship, thank you for your time and your service.

Cameron F – MOTION: To approve the PowerPoint presentation entitled “Archive Your Area”. Here it is. Hit it, maestro! (The PowerPoint is shown) … narrated by Cameron.
Elizabeth S – How did you get the info of dates on the side of this presentation?
Cameron – obtained from variety of places and asked for input from Area Chairs, Delegates and Trustees.
Ginger L – So this is going out to the fellowship, was it in the SR-14?
Cameron – Yes.

Susan B – Thanks, Cameron. We were asked by the 2015 Convention Committee to create a “Chain of Custody” document for our Traveling Archive Display. Please help me welcome new committee member Mark S, to present our motion to approve this document. Mark, come on up.

Frank P – We are going to continue working with Archives. Taking digital pics for traveling archives, etc.
ITEMS THE COMMITTEE WILL CONTINUE WORKING ON THROUGH THE YEAR:
- Developing the digital archive and traveling digital archive displays
- Selecting more articles from “The Connection” Newsletter for the Fellowship to reprint
- Working with the 2015 CAWS Committee create a 31st Anniversary display
- Protect, sort and develop our Master Archive, including acquiring climate-controlled off-site storage for the Master Archive
- Advancing our efforts to complete a historical timeline of C.A.
- Editing archive tapes for an Audio Archive listening station
- Continue to conduct interviews with elder statesmen and former Trustees
- Development of a 4 piece commemorative square chip set display
