FINANCE COMMITTEE REPORT
INTRODUCTION AND COMMENTS:
It is the Finance Committee’s responsibility to oversee the prudent control, management, and use of monies donated by the individuals of the Fellowship of Cocaine Anonymous.
Over the past year, the Finance Committee has been actively engaged in several key areas of fiscal oversight and planning. The committee dedicated significant time and effort to a referral received regarding a proposed fundraising survey. As always, we took a deep dive into the 2026 budget and updated it to reflect the updated financial data, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current fiscal conditions. Building on this work, the committee also developed and proposed the 2027 budget, laying the groundwork for sound financial planning in the year ahead. We appreciate the opportunity to serve in this capacity and remain committed to supporting the organization’s continued financial health.

SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE MOTIONS:
MOTION 1: To approve the AMENDED Conference Approved FY’2026 Budget. (Attachment 1).
MOTION 2: To approve the Proposed budget for FY’2027.
REFERRAL 1691120 (Individual – Pre-conference):
Creation of a new committee or possibly a subcommittee of the Finance Committee that will serve as a repository for fundraising ideas for Groups/Districts and Areas to use. There is not at this time a place where fund raising ideas can be found. The World Convention is the primary fund raiser at the World level, but Groups/Districts/Areas may not find it feasible to put on a convention. We need a place to assist in fund raising in addition to passing the basket (with the number of Zoom meetings our 7th Tradition is down.) To have a place where information can be shared which includes not only successful fundraising projects but ones that have been vetted through the Traditions would be extremely helpful. We are an international fellowship with an entire world of creative ideas, some which will work in certain places and some that may not have even been considered in other places. A central location where those ideas can be found can

possibly grow the fellowship. Having this bank of successful ideas could be a way of getting members excited to try something new and getting both newcomers and longtime members involved. I have many ideas on how the start this committee and ways to collect the submissions I would love to share.

PRESENTATIONS OF CURRENT ACTIVITIES OR TASKS (no motions)
In closing, the Finance Committee accomplished a great deal this past year. We reviewed and addressed a referral regarding a proposed fundraising survey, amended the 2026 budget with updated financial data, and developed the proposed 2027 budget to guide the organization’s fiscal planning.
Looking to the coming year, the committee intends to build on this progress. We plan to continue updating our financial guidelines, complete the collec on of fundraising survey data, and identify effective means of sharing that information with the fellowship. We will also amend the 2027 budget if required, as updated figures become available throughout the year and

begin the process of preparing the proposed 2028 budget. The committee remains committed to this work and looks forward to continuing to serve Cocaine Anonymous’ long-term financial health.

Garrett M; The budget is based on actuals and possible results, based on worst case scenario only – if every dollar is spent it could end up here – but not probable. We just wanted to make sure there were no surprises. If it is likely to occur it is our responsibility to prepare the fellowship for this.

Russell S; Thank you for that question – bad debt – we had an email that was very convincing from a long-term supplier of ours, so it seemed legitimate, and we paid – and it was a scam. We parked it into bad debt until we decided where to put it. We didn’t want to hide it – so we could identify it

The fund-raising sub-committee for finance will have a bank where we can share what fund raisers we have done – what has worked and common pitfalls – and foster unity while supporting self-supporting.
We all have to fund raise – but dances, candy sales, etc.. but all over the world there are many fund raisers that other people do – wouldn’t it be great to have a place to look up what other people are doing – yes, it would! – what we are going to do is ask you to submit what fund raisers you do – so we can gather this information to share with each other. We have this fund- raising survey – and we would like to gather up this information and provide I as a resource.
